1. Set the goal for the campaign first
Before creating your ads, you need to have a goal. At first, you need to ask some questions to yourself.
- What Services/Products do you want to promote?
- Whom are you targeting?
- What is the goal of your Campaign?
- Are you willing more leads, brand awareness, site traffic, sales, or something else?
If you don’t have any goal then you won’t be able to create strong ads. So, set your goals for the campaign first.
Now, you have a goal and you are willing to know where should you start to create your campaign then let’s walk through step 2.
2. Navigate Facebook Ads Manager
To begin, log in to your Facebook account and select create ads from Facebook ads. If you have a Facebook page of your business then you can click the Promote button in the right corner of your Facebook page.

3. Choose your Objectives
When you click on create Ads, you will go to a page where you have to choose the objective for your campaign. You can pick the category which works best for you.
Brand Awareness:– Choose this when you want only to increase awareness of your brand. You don’t want people to engage with your content, click through, opt-in, or purchase.
Reach:- Use Reach objective, when you want to get your ad seen by many people as much as possible.
Traffic:- If you want to target people to visit your website to register and purchase then choose Traffic as a campaign type.
Engagement:– Use Engagement objective, when you want more page likes, Comments, Share, Event Responses, or Offer Claims.
App Installs:- When you have an app and you want people to download and install it.
Video Views:-When you are promoting your video and your objective is to get more views of your video.
Lead Generation:-Choose Lead Generation when you want to generate more leads without driving traffic to your website.
Conversion:-Choose the Conversion objective when your goal is to get people to convert for a specific action like opt-in, register, and purchase.
Product Catalog Sales:-Choose this, when you have an e-commerce store and you want to promote your products.
Store Visits:-When you have multiple business locations and wish to promote your business nearby so that Customers will visit.
You have chosen your objectives. Now, you’ll have to type your Campaign name.
4. Choose your Audience
Who are your customers? You can customize your audience according to your services/products in various ways.
- Location-based targeting:- Starting with a country, state, city, zip code, or your address.
- Age:- When you are targeting an audience with a range of age.
- Interest-based:-Facebook looks at a person’s interests, activity, the Pages they like, etc.
- Behaviors:- Facebook targets people by purchase history, events they like, personal anniversaries, etc.
This will give you a targeted audience.
5. Setting Your Budget
Define how much budget you like to spend? Facebook allows you to set a daily budget or lifetime budget.
Daily Budget:-It means you are going to spend specific budget every day.
Lifetime Budget:-A lifetime budget is the maximum that you’ll spend over the time period you set.
6. Create your custom Advert
In this section, you have to choose images/videos, headlines, body text and where your ads will be displayed on Facebook. This is a very very important point while creating a Campaign. Your ad should be enticing enough to make people want to click.
There are five formats to create adverts:-
- Carousel:- Create an advert with 2 or more scrollable images or videos.
- Single Image:- Create an advert with a single image.
- Single video:– Create an advert with one video.
- Slideshow:– Create a video advert with up to 10 images.
- Canvas:- Create a story advert by using images and videos.
- Recommended image size: 1200 x 628 pixels
- Image ratio: 1.91:1
- Format: .MOV or .MP4 files
- Resolution: at least 720p
- File size: 2.3 GB max.
- Recommended aspect ratio: widescreen (16:9)
- Facebook: 60 minutes max.
- Instagram: 60 seconds max.
7. Choose the Ad Placement
In this section, you have to choose a location where your ad will be displayed on Facebook. Your ad may be displayed on Mobile News Feed, desktop News Feed and in the right column. You can also create Instagram ads along with Facebook ads.
8. Place Your Order
Now, your ad is completely ready in just one click Place Order. Now, your ad is live on Facebook.
