Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in India, historic buildings in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) illuminated the tricolor to show solidarity with the country as it tries to combat the epidemic. The tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, Adnoc headquarters in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi was lit with the Indian flag as well as the message “Stay Strong India” on Sunday night.
“As India fights a fierce war against COVID19, her friend UAE sends her best wishes. To demonstrate their support at the Burj Khalifa (Tricolor) in Dubai (“The Embassy of India in the UAE) posted on Twitter with a video of the Burj Khalifa”.
Not only Dubai’s tallest building Burj Khalifa but another building was illuminated with tricolor lights. In addition to the tricolor, the tag #StayStrongIndia is also visible on these buildings.
The 23-second video showed the tricolour displayed on the tower’s facade, with the text #StayStrongIndia.
A total of 349,691 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, the fourth straight day of record peaks. Hospitals in Delhi and across the country are taking away medical oxygen and patients after getting out of bed.
